I have met few physicians in my lifetime that I think as highly of as Dr. Grobman. He has always made me feel that I had his undivided attention. I have never felt rushed or hurried. As a RN for 23 years, I feel I am in a unique position to assess medical care and I have never left Dr. Grobman feeling that he was not the best decision I ever made. He is a kind and compassionate physician. His knowledge and expertise are unquestionably of the highest standard. I would not hesitate to refer a loved one to this wonderful physician. What is equally as impressive, is his staff. Never anything but a smile and an encouraging word. I could go on but I think you get the picture.

An initial visit with our Holistic Nutritionist/Health Coach will be a thorough health history and body composition report which will analyze your weight, body fat, water percentage, muscle mass, and BMR. We will go into great detail in determining the root of your health concern with the Circle of Life tool, and understanding your everyday eating patterns. Jenia helps achieve any health goal by diving into the root of the problem and accessing all realms of Nutrition using Primary and Secondary Foods. While Secondary Nutrition, which is what we eat, is important, Jenia really goes deep into what is called Primary Nutrition which is the Holistic approach. Primary food goes beyond the plate, nurturing us on a deeper level.
The four main primary foods are: Career, Relationships, Physical Activity, and Spirituality.
The more primary food we give ourselves, the less we depend on secondary food. On the contrary, the more we fill ourselves with secondary food, the less space we leave for primary food – the true source of nourishment and non disease. She individualizes your need in a deeper level that will last a lifetime. Handouts, recipes, nutrition, and behavior modifications will be given with each session. You will leave the office empowered, supported, and feeling accomplished.
“You are given only one body and mind. Of all the things you try to achieve and possess in this life, your health should be your first priority. I find it ironic that, in general, people take better care of material possessions than themselves. Your physical presence and health defines who and what you are. How do you want to be perceived?”

During your initial visit with the RDN, an indirect calorimetry test, which is a breathing test that will help the RDN determine your body’s daily caloric requirement based on your goals, may be performed. A body composition analysis may also be performed that will include percent body fat, muscle mass and visceral fat. The analysis may also be done at follow-up visits to help track changes toward individual goals and healthy measurements.
Also, during the initial visit, you will discuss your past medical history, pertinent labs, food likes and dislikes, personal food and cultural preferences, your typical eating environment, eating patterns, as well as any food allergies. These details will help the RDN to create a personalized meal plan, catered to assist you in meeting your short and long-term goals.
During the initial and follow-up visits, the RDN will also focus on goal setting, behavior modification, and lifestyle changes to achieve lasting results. Individuals will gain a better understanding of healthy eating patterns and what nutritious foods to eat to help them meet their individual needs and help them live a healthier lifestyle.
Healthy eating and lifestyle topics discussed may include: cooking tips and techniques, how to read a food label, portion control and how to make healthy choices when dining out.

At your initial visit I will complete a thorough, professional medical assessment, review your pertinent medical and social history, and perform an exam which may include an EKG and blood work if needed. Additionally I may perform calorimetry testing, which is a non-invasive method to help determine your individual basal metabolic rate, as well as utilize a body composition scale which will help to measure the various components of your weight (such as body fat and water percentages, and your distribution between fat, muscle, and water weight). We will also discuss your goals, concerns and other necessary considerations; then based on all of the information collected, I will make recommendations that can work with your lifestyle and may include medicinal options if appropriate, dietary modifications, and/or short-term meal replacements if suitable. Once my recommended options are outlined we will work together to construct a medically supervised plan which will be the foundation for your successful weight loss journey.
After our initial visit we will meet at recommended intervals where I will continue to provide medical assessments and we will trend and follow your progress utilizing the body composition scale, as well take into account your feedback regarding your experience. We will again review any applicable medical information, discuss your successes and challenges, and I address any other questions or concerns that will naturally arise as you continue along the journey to a healthier and happier you!
Jennifer (Jenne) O’Neill is a Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She joined Advanced Internal Medicine Group PC in January 2016, after having spent over a decade working in Critical Care, Neurosurgery/Neurology, and Development and Operationalization at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Jenne’s true medical passion is preventative and holistic medicine, and she recalls, “When working in an ICU I saw people who were terribly ill, and while I was driven to care for them and help them heal, I also understood the reality that often times the diseases and conditions we were treating may have been preventable”. It was then that she knew that she would like to be able to use her experience and education to help people to become healthy before disease processes progressed to that point. Her beliefs and practices lead to her joining with Dr. Grobman to develop AIM Weight Management with the hope of helping patients to gain control of their health proactively.
When not practicing medicine Jenne can be found busy working for her “three other bosses” on a beach, soccer field or mountain, or assisting with the year-round efforts and operation of her beloved charity, Toys for Freeport Tots.
During your visit, we will review your complete medical history and perform an exam. Review of blood work and an EKG will be performed as necessary. A calorimetry test may be performed to gauge your individual basal metabolic rate to assist in determining your daily caloric needs. We will utilize our body composition scale to assess the components of your weight including your percent body fat, water weight, and muscle weight. A detailed report will be provided for you to review to help you understand your body composition.
Repeating these diagnostics over time will enable us to follow your progress and make adjustments along the way. A personalized approach to your goals will be discussed which may include options for diet alone, medication management, and some may even benefit from a short term meal replacement program.
Collaboration with our Dietitian and Health Coach will provide additional support during your weight management journey. We look forward to partnering with you along the way!
